Update of our family.

Hi just wanted to let all of our extended family know that Deborah Persinger Hall a member of this site has passed away. She died July 11th in Deland Fla. She had cancer and needed a bone marrow transplant. Just as we had found one sadly it was to late. She will be greatly missed she helped us last year when mom was told she had cancer and helped us a lot when she passed away.See More

Weather

I don't know about the rest of you, but here in southern Ohio we're really tired of the snow, ice, and below zero temperatures. Stay warm and safe everybody, especially on the roads. Spring is sure to come sooner or later.

Poor House of Greenbrier Co. from the Journal of the Greenbrier Historical Society

  It all started with the 1860 Code of Virginia, to include a Poor House and a Work House for the reception of the poor and reformation of vagrants.

  The Poor Farm situated near Williamsburg, WV.  It was on the west side of Culbertson's Creek (also called Culverson's Creek).  It was to include a Poor House and a Work House.  It ran from 1820 til  the 1940's.
